Overview

The Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (FAW) is the nationally recognised qualification for workplace first aiders. Delivered over three days, this comprehensive course equips learners with the knowledge and practical skills required to manage a wide range of workplace illnesses and injuries, whilst meeting the requirements of the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981.

Duration: 18 Hours (3 days)

  • Adult cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
  • Automated External Defibrillator (AED) use
  • Recovery position

  • Stroke recognition
  • Asthma and respiratory emergencies
  • Diabetes emergencies
  • Anaphylaxis management
  • Shock management
  • Wounds and bleeding control

  • Fractures, sprains and strains
  • Head, neck and spinal injuries

  • Minor illness and injury management

Entry Requirements

  • Learners must be at least 14 years old.
  • No previous first aid qualification is required.
  • Learners must be physically capable of completing practical assessments, including CPR performed on the floor.
